Emmanuel is the principal partner. He is a Lawyer, an arbitrator and an alternative dispute resolution practitioner; including being trained in dispute adjudication board and construction claims in FIDIC contracts; Secretary-General, Society of Construction Industry Arbitrators, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Society of Construction Law Nigeria; alumnus of Lalive/UNITAR (Geneva)  course on  investment arbitration/investor-treaty arbitration.

He heads the Special Skills Practice Group; covering practice areas such as, oil and gas, pollution, information technology (Infotech), Foreign Direct Investment ( FDI), intellectual property  arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods; and litigations/court cases arising from them.

Emmanuel is relied upon for his integrity of opinion and the provision of valuable advice relating to legal and compliance matters that he is consulted on.  Establishing and Promoting protocol of governance, upholds the highest standards of integrity, due diligence and transparency.

Emmanuel was formerly the General Counsel at the Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration, Lagos, where he supervised several arbitration in areas such as; international construction and engineering, oil and gas, maritime, telecommunication, banking and insurance, sports and entertainment as well as the service industry.

Performed duties as necessary to ensure the soundness and stability of operation of the Centre.  He was responsible for legal, compliance and risk matters. In addition, Emmanuel was responsible for administering institutional arbitration, advising on mediation and conciliation practices, monitoring court intervention in arbitration and assisting in the enforcement of arbitral awards.

Emmanuel also attended several diplomatic meetings at the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) (Arbitration and Conciliation Working Group); that regularly drafts and updates UNCITRAL model laws on international commercial arbitration and UNCITRAL model arbitration rules in Vienna, and the Annual Sessions of the Asian- African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO) on Arbitration Centres in many countries.

Arising from his vast wealth of experience and exposure; he is actively engaged in advising on arbitration, international trade and investment laws and practices of various countries and arbitration rules of various arbitral institutions.

Letting results speak for his work, Emmanuel has been appointed arbitrator in construction cases and acted in ad hoc banking and capital market arbitrations that the claim is in excess of one billion naira, as well as a consultant in a construction arbitration with a claim in excess of three billion naira.  He has also acted as Registrar in some of the most complex arbitrations held in Nigeria.

Well rounded in depth of experience, he teaches/trains arbitrators at workshops, seminars and conferences; as well as a contributor to learned journals. He also presents papers regularly in International Congress of Maritime Arbitrators. He has worked as a lead consultant in case management and case auditing for the Nigerian Maritime and Safety Agency (NIMASA). He has a special interest in developing new practice areas in law, arbitration and related fields.

Emmanuel is exposed to the legal, financial and some technical aspects of the infrastructural environment; in his capacity as a member of the Infrastructure Policy Commission of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group. The work of the Infrastructure Policy Commission brought about the establishment of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission in Nigeria. 

Emmanuel is a qualified Dispute Adjudication Board Specialist; having been trained in FIDIC Contract Claims and Dispute Adjudication Board by a FIDIC Certified training provider. Emmanuel has been previously appointed a Sole Member Dispute Adjudication Board by parties involved in international construction contracts. He was also appointed a sole adjudicator by a London based appointing authority for a major turnkey project involving a multi-national company and a Nigerian-based international company in Nigeria.

Emmanuel also participated in a complex FIDIC Claims Dispute Adjudication Board between an Italian Construction Company and a Nigerian Employer; involving the development of a five star hotel in Nigeria; and involving Consultants from Dubai, South Africa, Korea, China, India and Nigeria.

Apart from acting as a dispute adjudicator in both domestic and international construction contracts, Emmanuel has also acted as lead counsel in the enforcement of dispute board Decisions in Nigerian courts.

Emmanuel was a consultant in ADR to the US Commercial Law Development on an ADR project for US investors in 2002; and among the ADR experts invited by the Lagos State House of Assembly to advise it on the Citizenship Mediation and Office of the Public Defender Bills in 2004.
